Do you know how to get true phone sound? I don’t think so. However, AudioEase recently released the Speakerphone RTAS plug-in, which allows you to do much more than regular EQ presets simulating radio, walkie-talkie, telephone, etc.
In addition to the equalizer, the plug-in has a distortion effect, changing the sampling frequency and bit rate, dynamic effects, density adjustment, delay and detuning effects, tremolo, as well as adjusting room parameters. The plugin is built on the same engine as the famous Altiverb to simulate real loudspeakers in real environments, be it (as the official website says) “a bad GSM connection on a crowded sidewalk, a megaphone with feedback in the background of a flying helicopter, or a guitar amp 1952 years in a recording studio. ”

AudioEase Speakerphone Sample Collection
A bad GSM connection on a busy sidewalk, a bullhorn with feedback and a helicopter overhead, or a 1952 rockabilly guitar amp in a recording studio live room: The Speakerphone audio plug-in gives you authentic speakers of any size together with their natural environments.
All the walkie-talkies, distant transistor radios, upstairs TV sets, bullhorns, cell phones and guitar cabinets you’ll ever need. Speakerphone will add dial tones, operators and static, and you can select from a wealth of ambiences on either the caller or receiver’s end.
270 speaker impulse responses powered by Altiverb, 30 Altiverb rooms, 5 gigabyte of ambiences and sound FX, conveniently presented to you in 500 presets.
