Welcome to The Lastufka Libraries: Acoustic Bass Guitar. My goal in sampling
instruments is not only to capture the tones of the instrument perfectly, but to
also capture it’s unique noises and sounds. These sounds are usually edited out
by other developers, taking the instrument’s character away. This library will
you the opportunity to leave as much, or as little of the instrument’s character
“in the mix” as you’d like, by offering ultimate user control.
Also, I have used no pitch-correcting / pitch-shifting software (the instrument was
retuned every other interval to ensure accuracy). No noise-reduction, compression,
or EQ’ing have been added either – these processes degrade the original
signal, and also limit you, the end user, from applying these effects yourself.
Instead, I took every precaution during the recording sessions to ensure consistent
levels between notes and strings.
What you have here are the untainted sounds of a fine Carlo Robelli, four-string
acoustic bass guitar. Sampled chromatically at 24-Bit / 48-kHz for the highest in
audio fidelity. The samples were recorded and meticulously edited in Steinberg’s
Cubase SX 2, then intelligently programmed in Native Instruments’ Kontakt.
